To prevent occupational hazards, Advantech introduced the OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System in 2006 and received certification for ISO 45001 revisions in December 2020. Advantech Taiwan complies with all relevant laws on occupational health and safety. Our Occupational Health and Safety Committee consists of one chairperson, one representative from management, and 15 labor representatives, which account for one third of all representatives. The supervisor of the Department of Labor Health and Safety holds meetings to promote relevant news and regulations on health and safety.
Advantech has various clearly established SOPs on workplace emergency response. We have scheduled inspection plans for machines, equipment, and operation environments, and we provide essential protective gear for all operations that require it. To further ensure a safe work environment for our employees, we hold regular and irregular plant and office inspections to minimize various risk factors. We also reinforce employee education on health and safety and perform regular fire drills to minimize occupational hazards.
In addition to monitoring our operations to ensure that all environments meet health and safety standards, we also place strong emphasis on employee health. Advantech regularly tests and maintains the quality of drinking water, noise, temperature, humidity, and illumination in the workplace. Regarding air conditioning equipment, every 6 months, it commissions professional inspection companies to measure CO2 concentrations in central air-conditioning facilities to ensure the quality of the work environment, protect the health of employees, and prevent occupational diseases.
Advantech offers annual employee health checks, which goes above and beyond requirements set out in the Labor Standards Act. We also promote good health through activities such as running clubs, implementing a no-smoking policy at the workplace, and regularly conducting environmental inspections to ensure employee health. We also offer private spaces for breastfeeding, facilities for sports and recreation, and safe and sanitary dining environments.
